We have found that most parents start to prepare their children for the 11+ entrance exams at least a year in advance, and year 4/5 is typical, although some families do start earlier in year 3.
Calday Grange Grammar School, West Kirby Grammar School, Wirral Grammar School for Boys and Wirral Grammar School for Girls.
These schools use the GL 11 Plus Exams with a mixture of Verbal Reasoning, Non-Verbal Reasoning, maths and English.
St Anselm’s College
This school uses their own exam format testing English, maths, mental maths and verbal reasoning.
Upton Hall School
This school uses 2 verbal reasoning papers produced by GL.
Liverpool Grammar Schools
The Blue Coat School 11+ will test Maths, English and non-verbal reasoning.
It is not unusual for schools that have relied on the same exam provider for an extended period to undergo sudden changes and switch to different providers. Therefore, it is advisable to verify this information directly with the schools.
