Unlock Your Child’s Full Potential with Principal Tutors
Physics is either studied as part of the combined Double Award Science curriculum which covers all three major sciences (with biology and chemistry) or can be taken independently under the Triple Award Science curriculum.
Of all the sciences, physics is arguably the most important because it underpins the others. Physics also cultivates a strong problem-solving approach which can be applied in many other subjects and in life in general. Employers see it that way too and for that reason, a qualification in physics is always an asset. More important to many students is the fact that physics sets out to answer questions that almost all young people are eager to know. What is everything made of? What is electricity? Can we visit other planets?
Topics that can be covered include the following:
Soundwaves, interference patterns and sonar
- Electromagnetism and Electricity – current, voltage, resistance, conductors and insulators
- Light, lenses and prisms, refraction, reflection, critical angle
- Nuclear particles, charge, isotopes, radiation nuclear fission and fusion, radioactive half-life, ions
- States of matter, mass, volume
- Laws of motion, acceleration, scalar and vector quantities, kinetic energy
- Levers, gears, energy transformations, efficiency
- Specific heat, latent heat, temperature, pressure, friction, work
- Planets, orbital motion, satellites, stars, red shift, big bang theory, dark matter and dark energy
Our online GCSE physics tutors may also address broader topics such as the scientific method and measurement challenges.
In addition, some bodies place more weight on the social impacts of technology and focus on energy production and conservation, global warming, renewable fuels and recycling. There are also overlaps with other subjects, such as valency (with chemistry), graphs and vectors (with mathematics), seismic waves (with geology/geography) and of course astrophysics (with astronomy). Your child’s online GCSE physics tutor will not force them to repeat areas in which they already feel confident.

GCSE Science
“I called Principal Tutors to find a science tutor for my daughter as she was struggling with understanding science at school. The tutor was really helpful and patient and helped my daughter with no just science topics but with exam technique, and revision schedules aswell as her maths. Really happy with the service overall.”
Expert GCSE Physics Tuition from the Comfort of Your Home
Our Online Tutoring Will not Only Increase Your Child’s Subject Knowledge But will increase Their Confidence for Their Exams
About 20% of the physics syllabus involves some mathematics. This should not discourage students who aren’t fond of maths as our online GCSE physics tutors can help your child to tackle it as it arises. In fact, learning physics helps to demonstrate the useful ways in which maths can be used which often encourages maths-shy students to learn more. A major benefit of working with an online GCSE physics tutor is that science tuition is one-to-one and therefore the lesson plan can be adjusted to fit the strengths and weaknesses, interests and disinterests of each particular student.
All our GCSE physics tutors are qualified and experienced teachers with backgrounds in the British education system. They relish the opportunity to provide learning tailored to the needs and passions of individual students, something difficult to achieve in classes of 30-40 pupils. Some of our students come to us because they need help to guarantee a pass, others are trying to catch up with work missed because of illness, relocation or other issues and others are ambitious students hoping to acheive the top grades. Our online GCSE physics tutors are the perfect answer for all requirements.
The GCSE curriculum is standardised but still interpreted by a number of different examining bodies (AQA, OCR, Edexcel and others). Although they sometimes advocate slightly different perspectives, they all focus on the same syllabus content. Our GCSE physics tutors deliver material fully compatible with all regional variants, including WJEC, CCEA and the iGCSE.
How Principal Tutors Online GCSE Physics Tutoring Service Works
Online GCSE physics tutors have a broad range of modern online teaching aids at their disposal, but most lessons use a virtual online classroom and an interactive whiteboard that both tutor and student can write on. The lessons can be recorded so you and your child can replay them. They can also receive written feedback and additional learning materials by file downloads. As a result of these provisions, our students are not required to make extensive notes of their own, which improves in-session focus and saves a great deal of time.
Let our online tutors help your child to develop lifelong skills and a passion for seeking the answers to big questions.
