Principal Tutors started as a local Manchester business in 2014, independently owned and managed by an educational professional with 25 years experience in the education and training fields. We have since expanding across the UK as well as offering tuition to pupils internationally that attend British International Schools.

We are highly selective about who our tutors are, and like you, we have high expectations of them. Our tutors have a minimum of a teaching qualification together with a significant number of years experience teaching in the classroom. However, we only accept around 2% of the tutors that have these requirements to be part of our team.
We select tutors based on their significant teaching experience as well as their outwardly displayed passion for their subject, which goes a long way to help reignite a desire to learn in pupils. With this in mind, we aim to introduce you to the best tutor for your individual circumstances, where tutor and student are able to connect, and hence engage in a productive learning experience.
Our screening and vetting process is very thorough and ensures all tutors hold an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) (formerly known as CRB) certificate. Principal Tutors takes child protection seriously and our tutors and staff are committed to the Principal Tutors Child Protection Policy.
We help pupils at all levels of the education system to achieve their true potential and academic goals.
We only work with Qualified teachers who have significant classroom experience teaching the UK National Curriculum.

We decided many years ago to focus on the core subjects of maths, English and science and to get this right all of the time. We want to provide the highest quality service in these subjects at all times across all levels including primary, GCSE and A-level. We aim to always have tutors with availability in these subjects.
In addition to the above core subjects, we have also developed a specialist sub-team of highly experienced 11+ tutors for grammar school and independent school entrance exam tuition. We started this locally in the Cheshire and Trafford areas, where we perfected our skills and knowledge, before expanding and offering this speciality tuition service across all of the 11+ areas of England.
